Lighthouse has developed good links with Northmoor Community Centre which provides a diverse range of services and activities such as money and welfare advice, a walking group, a cookery club and a community café. Clients can easily access the centre, which is only a few minutes walk from Lighthouse.
Clients are also encouraged to visit other local amenities such as the leisure centre which has a swimming pool.
Lighthouse is able to arrange for clients to participate in voluntary work as part of their activity programme as a way to broaden the experience and gain valuable new skills. Discussions on suitable opportunities linked to client’s interests would take place during the initial meeting.
Part of the rear garden space has been converted into a vegetable garden with a greenhouse and several raised beds. Clients can take responsibility for all aspects of growing their own vegetables from ground preparation through to planting seeds, watering and harvesting.

1-2-1 or group basis. Tuition is friendly and informal with guitar and
drum sessions very popular amongst clients.
The well equipped art room is an inspirational environment for creative sessions. Clients are able to choose from the range of materials including pastels, watercolours and old paints to express themselves in their art work.
Days out provide a change of scenery for clients and the opportunity to visit new places. Popular outings have included a trip to Liverpool and to see Anthony Gormley’s sculptures ‘Another Place’ on there beach at Crosby.
