Initial assessments take place in an informal setting at Lighthouse and are based on a holistic approach. Clients are encouraged to talk openly about the history of mental health issues and/or alcohol and substance misuse. Their aspirations and their own opinions of their life experiences and life events are also explored. Clients interests, future goals and things that they wish to change also inform the assessment.
Upon admission to Lighthouse, regular meetings will be held with clients to review their progress. Goals to recovery will be discussed, set and documented to optimise the pathway to independence.
Review reports can be shared with relevant professionals and clients families if and when required.
Where referrals are received at Lighthouse, clients will be offered an appointment to visit and invited to have lunch. Should the client feel they would like to live at Lighthouse, an assessment would be offered to ensure that the service can meet their needs.
